Central Scholarship is devoted to helping individuals achieve a better life through higher education. We believe that education is a right, not a privilege and that scholarships are an investment, not an expense.

We Provide Funding for Education After High School

We support students by funding their education and by helping them to make smart financial decisions when it comes to their education. We fund vocational and career training programs, undergraduate programs, as well as graduate and professional degrees.

We invest in students so that they have a brighter future for themselves, their families and our community.

Central Scholarship has been helping students pursue higher education since 1924. Students may apply online every year between January 1 and April 1. Our programs support education of all kinds, from vocational training to professional degrees. Each year, we award $1 million in scholarships and interest-free loans.

Once the application season is over, our staff sorts through thousands of applications to find the most qualified and deserving students. In order to reach students, our program department established an outreach community which includes guidance counselors, admissions and financial aid officers, and principals from across the state of Maryland. It is due to this network of education professionals that we are able to attract highly qualified student candidates every year.

At Central Scholarship we also want to help students and families make good financial decisions when it comes to their education. We offer an annual financial literacy event called College Cash to help students and parents get a firm grasp on all the various financial burdens and pitfalls that come with education. Our goal is to help them make the right decisions for their future from both a financial and educational perspective.

In addition to College Cash, we hold numerous events for our students throughout the year including our Student Awards Ceremony and networking events.

“We invest in students so that they have a brighter future for themselves, their families and our community.”
