General Eligibility Requirements
If you’re a student from Maryland with a GPA above 2.0 and a family income below $90,000 a year, or $66,000 a year for students pursuing career and technology training, you can apply for Central Scholarship awards. You must be planning to attend an accredited United States college, university, community college or career school in the upcoming academic year. And you must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
If you haven’t been a Maryland resident for at least one year, but you live within 200 miles of Baltimore City, you can still apply. You’ll be eligible for our interest-free loans only. Non-Maryland residents who are bilingual, and are pursuing graduate study in social work or mental health at Maryland schools, are also eligible, but only for the Stulman Endowed Scholarship.
I’m Eligible. Now What?
The application for the 2015-2016 academic year is closed. It is open each year from January 1 until April 1. Semi-finalists are contacted by email on a rolling basis in May, June, and July. Winners are announced by August 15th. High school seniors are eligible for the Shoe City Scholarship which has an extended deadline of April 30, 2015.

CAREER OR TECHNOLOGY TRAINING STUDENTS
Click HERE to apply for students in community college or career training programs. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis each month and finalists are contacted by email to interview. For example, an application submitted by January 31st will receive a decision by February 28th.
